Blossom Punch

I so excited about using my new Blossom Punch more! I got it a while ago but I just got the coordinating stamp set 'Mixed Bunch' from Leadership. However when I saw this card at Leadership I realized I didn't have to wait after all. I love this card...especially how it uses the negative effect of the paper - the punched out image! I am going to use this card in my next Card Club class because this is a gorgeous card! The DSP used is from the Simply Scrappin' Kit, Spring Fever! It took me a while to figure that one out!

And the wording is from the new stamp set 'Loved Ones'. Great Card that was on display in the Sweet Shop for us to admire again at Leadership Convention!

So I will be working on my 'Stamp and Share Party' cards and 3-D item this weekend so I will post those when complete.

Ok I have a busy morning...off to do some blood work (hopefully they find out why I am sick all the time), car in for service and my son has hockey practice - all before 9am!!

Take it to Heart!

Hi Everyone! I'm going to make this quick as I am sick again!! Another UTI! Seriously! But they are doing some more tests this time because apparently my bladder is very enlarged (up to my belly button)...and I am very uncomfortable to say the least...so I haven't been on the Blog lately and sleeping lots so sorry to be MIA...anyhow this is the card we did at my Watercolour class the other night. It was a swap card from Leadership - one of the best things about this years Leadership was I got some GREAT swaps and when I saw this card by Valerie Malkus (Lake Luzerne, NY) I knew I was going to case this card...

Lyndsay (my daughter and also demonstrator) made the card beside it - I had a picture of it but I deleted it - sorry Lynds! I love how Valerie incorporated our fabric - Twitterpated into the card! We used Craft ink refills and aqua painters to colour our images...it was fun and I LOVE this card! Thanks Valerie! I just wish I had a blog or website of hers to check out...

Last day in San Antonio and a few special projects from Shelli

We left Saturday afternoon which left Joanne and I some time to explore San Antonio in the morning...so we headed to The Alamo of course...we couldn't leave without a stop there...

on our way we walked by the 'Torch of Friendship'

The "Torch of Friendship" was given to San Antonio by the Mexican Consulate as a sign of friendship and to represent the roots many Texans share with Mexico.

The contemporary steel sculpture was made in Mexico and shipped to San Antonio in six pieces. It stands 65 feet tall and weighs 50 tons.
It was commissioned to commemorate the relationship between the United States and Mexico and the two countries' increasing commercial ties.

Urban monumental sculptor Sebastian was commissioned at the request of the Association of Mexican Entrepreneurs of San Antonio to design the sculpture.

 

 

 

 

Than onto the Alamo...

 Part of what remains of the once large fortress from the early 19th century...the battle was in 1836...history and information on the Alamo can be found here.

Last day of Leadership Conference

Well we almost slept in today...thank goodness I woke up to check the time and noticed the alarm don't go off...probably because someone (hmmm) forgot to set it...thank goodness that someone has a good internal clock...so once we jumped out of bed and quickly got ready we were off to the last day :( of our Leadership Conference...another amazing day of announcements, give-aways and fun!

Our fabulous group that grew by two this year!! We welcomed Linda and Pat to join us! Here we are in the Main Auditorium waiting for final session.

Apparently the CFO can Salsa too...gee is he available? For my single friends that is...LOL!

After it was all over we headed to Tony Roma's for dinner for some yummy Fillets and white wine, than off to the ATT Centre to catch the San Antonio Spurs Basketball game against the Sacramento Kings...the Spurs lost 88-86...BUT our whole section won FREE Spurs t-shirts...really nice ones too! Pretty cool!

Ok it's 12:45am here and I'm exhausted so off to bed and hopefully up in the morning for some sight seeing before we head home - our flight is in the afternoon so we have a bit of time before we go...

More Fun in San Antonio!!

Oh my gosh what an amazing day again! Yesterday was so much fun, meeting friends, exploring our neighbourhood, shopping, eating, drinking, laughing...I really didn't want it to end...but today it was much more of the same thing, how could you go wrong?

The conference officially kicked off this morning, even though we had some starter activities yesterday...we received lots of amazing gifts (1 NEW stamp set from the Summer Mini, Ribbon, Rhinestones, Pearls, Large Pearls, MDS CD and packs of Sale-a-bration and Spring Mini catalogues. Wow! Plus all the new announcements about the NEW Catalogue format changing (demonstrators, see Stampin' Up for the latest home office post), and the NEW Stampin' Success Magazine format changes...all so exciting!!

But the hardest part of all was the beautiful weather...I wanted to skip the afternoon sessions and go lay by the pool...it was about 80 degrees and sunny today...

and as we walked outside at lunch time, it was so hard to go back inside...

We headed down the Riverwalk again for dinner and tonight all the trees were lit up for Christmas...? Because Extreme Makeover, Home Edition was filming a 2012 Christmas episode near the Riverwalk so all the trees were decorated for Christmas...so pretty!

We went to The Original Mexican Restaurant for dinner on the Riverwalk...it was ok...

Joanne, Heather and Nancy enjoying their drinks...I have become addicted (?) to strawberry Margaritas...oh so yummy!!

We were serenaded my a Mariachi band (for a fee...LOL)...than headed back to our hotel. It was a beautiful walk back as the weather was gorgeous out tonight!! Sandals and a sweater were perfect...and I hear back home it's snowing...gee too bad...;)

Day 2 of our Leadership Trip

Well today we were off to pick up our Leadership bags and than to Make and Takes (or as some people call it (Take and Makes - they make them at home...because too much socializing goes on during this time...LOL)...here are our Leadership 2012 bags...

 Lots of neat things inside...A Real Red Marker, a Tempting Turquoise Marker, a Pin, Journal Book, and a nice writing pen. We did some card swapping for a while then off to our Make-and-take session where we were greeted with more gifts! A beautiful book cover for an Ereader or Journal, and some yummy chocolate bark (I didn't eat the chocolate - having a dairy allergy I will save it for my kids)...

Notice the book cover matches the bag...and the fabric??? Hmmm new??? Maybe coming up in the next Mini??? Hint, hint...

Inside book cover - lots of pockets and flaps...also the out side tag was personally signed by Shelli (Stampin' Up! CEO)!

Chocolate treat at every seat...white and chocolate bark in every package! Yummmy!

Off to lunch - Tony Romas - for some ribs (so good) and then to the mall to shop!! I got my Texas Long Horns Hoodie!! So excited about that!!! And some deals at Macy's too!

Joanne and I after lunch - I was stuffed - and still crying from laughing so hard...we had such a good time at lunch with our Leadership friends (see first picture - our group)! We all get along so well and laugh a lot!!

On our walk to 'Happy Hour' and dinner at the Iron Cactus (the rest of my group was off to Manager's Reception, but Joanne and Genevieve decided to walk and have a drink with me before they went to Manager's Reception...for the $3 Margaritas!!! Oh and they were good!! So I stayed and meet-up with several other Stampin' Up! ladies that I have befriended on Facebook...a bunch of us arranged a dinner and we had a blast! Lots of Margaritas were had by all...

Rose-Ellen Eastman, Julie Davidson Ramsay, Blair Gilmore Moch, Lesley Poper, Julie LeBlanc, Christine Richardson, and 2 other new friends joined in (Janet and ? - I am sorry I can't remember names well)...earlier on we had others who joined in too and left for the Manager's Reception...thanks everyone who came out...it was fun and great to meet you all!

I had an amazing day today! Met lots of friends whom I've communicated with over the internet (Facebook, email etc) and it was awesome to meet them in person today - Gwen Mangelson, Dixie Finn, Patty Chenail, Pat Brannin and Pamela in the lobby...this is what makes this whole trip a wonderful experience!! I laughed so much today thanks to 'G' - haven't laughed that hard in a long time and making so many new friendships and sharing many stories...one of the best days ever!!!

We're Here in San Antone!

It was a long day of flying...first to Baltimore with a 2 hour layover than to San Antone (that's what they call it here)...but all flights were all on time, unlike our good friend Genevieve who was flying out of Toronto...hr flight was delayed , rescheduled, rerouted and we think she finally made it here in the middle of the night...all due to heavy fog at the Toronto airport...thank goodness we flew out of Buffalo.

It was 78 degrees when we landed at 5:50pm local time (central time) but it's a bit cooler today...mid 60's. Once we checked in we headed out for a late dinner on the famous 'Riverwalk'...it was a beautiful walk last night...just needed a sweater with a light breeze.

PS. That's the Mall (headed there later today ;) - lots of great stores - Macy's, Gap, Aeropostle, AE, and more!!!! This is also the back of our hotel  - dangerous!!!

After our dinner with our amazing Missouri friends who we meet last year at Leadership and have kept in touch with very closely, Heather and Nancy! There are two missing from our group, Genevieve will meet us soon and Lauren unfortunately couldn't make the trip this year :(

So we are off to registration, Make-and-Takes and then shopping this afternoon! I'll be back later as rumour has it Stampin' Up! has picked up the tab on FREE internet in our rooms so I won't have to go to the lobby to blog....

Mug Cozy Instructions and A Leadership Card...

Wow thanks everyone for your responses to my Mug Cozies! I received lots of emails and comments on Facebook, many of you asking for some instructions on how to make the Mug Cozies...well I am kicking myself because I didn't take any photos of the project while I was making them...so I did my best and drew the instructions and than had to take a photo of them as my scanner isn't working...so this is the best I could do...I'm really sorry but I never expected this response, nor did I think anyone would want photo instructions...but I am thrilled and flattered...I hope this helps and please if you have any questions, just email me at lynda@lyndascards.com

More Mug Cozies....for Leadership!

Here are some more of my Mug Cozies that I have made as Leadership gifts for my special friends..finally finished them last night...except I have a few buttons to still sew on tonight after work, than pack, and make a few cards for the Leadership conference...I probably won't be able to sleep anyhow I am so excited...and I didn't get much sleep last night either...I will try to sleep on the plane but I have the first 6 episodes of 'Once Upon A Time' to watch on the plane...that's exciting too! Since I have been so busy this past Fall and because the show is on Sunday nights - when Sunday football is on I never got a chance to watch it so I recorded it and now I am going to finally watch it...(but stupid me watched episode 8 the other night because I was too tired to change the channel and it came on - and it was so good...can't wait to get all caught up)!!!!

Fresh Vintage SAB set 2012

Here is another version of my Leadership Swap Card...using the Fresh Vintage (my apologies I called it French Vintage in an earlier post) stamp set from the Sale-a-bration catalogue...Here I used Lucky Limeaide to correspond with the Everyday Enchantment DSP - also from the new Sale-a-bration catalogue...so exciting!!

So it is Saturday night - or Sunday morning, about 12:30am and I am still working on my swaps...I have 32 done and ...many more to go, plus I have 6 + sewing projects to complete tomorrow, plus packing, laundry...ugh will I ever get it all done?  Gosh I hope so!!

I am feeling much better and hopefully recovered from my kidney infection!! Antibiotics should be done Monday and I leave Tuesday! Can't wait! I will be posting as many pictures, as I can (meaning time permitting) on my blog from Leadership, so make sure to check in next week to stay on top of all the daily info from San Antonio!!

Apothecary Stamp Set - NEW!

I am so totally in LOVE with this stamp set! It was on my first order and I plan on making a few cards this weekend with this set for the Leadership Card Contest that we have next week...

Here is a quick card that I put together using the new Framelit Dies and the Edgelit Dies. I coloured in the stamp with markers and a blender pen...

Colours used were Soft Suede and Calypso Coral...simple yet pretty too...

I love how the new Edgelit Dies really add a whole new element to the card...very nice!

Here is a very Special gift we received this  Christmas and have received for the past few Christmas's from a good friend of mine, Judith S. They are a Gingerbread family! Judith makes them with her children John and Abby and they make them specially for each individual family, hence we have two adults and 3 children (2 girls and 1 boy) and also a dog cookie...they are the sweetest and coolest gift we get every year...Even how Judith has packaged them is beautiful! I recognize this as a ton of work so we really appreciate them and thank them graciously!! Thanks Judith for your beautiful and very thoughtful gift!!!

Here is the Mom and Dad and one of the children, and the back has the other 2 children and our dog, Buddy...so cute!!

And look at the detail in the Top Note label! Great work!!

Oh and they taste amazing too...oh how I hate to eat them though...

Timeless Portrait Fabric Mug Cozy

So I have been trying to come up with a unique gift idea for my special friends at Leadership that uses our fabric but it has to be easy to make (as time is running out and with me being sick I needed a simple project)...the project idea isn't totally unique but how it is made I think is unique as I haven't seen anyone else make Mug Cozies like these...so here is my rendering on the Mug Cozy...

It's like a hair scrunchy but a bit more tailored...it has two elastics in it, it's reversible and uses our Timeless Portrait Fabric...when not in use it looks great as a bracelet too!

I hope my girls like it...I am going to use other fabric and button colours too...so I will post them later this week when I get them done...

I am half done my swaps as I need the rest of my materials to arrive via the UPS man this Friday...so this weekend will be a busy one of preparing swaps, sewing, packing and getting my family ready for my departure...will I survive? God I hope so, but I need to still recover and that is becoming a slow process right now which is really scaring me!!!

Sprinkled Expressions!

My Stamping Technique Class meets this Wednesday and we will be making this card using a new stamp set from the Sale-a-bration Brochure called Sprinkled Expressions. It was one of my favourites the first time I saw it...so neat the way each one of these stamps are created...I am always fascinated with the actual stamp's shape and creation and I love the idea behind each one of these stamps!

I used many many NEW products in making this card...I'll just list them here:

So just an update on myself...my bladder infection was not as it seemed...I mean the Dr called Friday evening with the culture results to tell me I instead had a Strep B infection in my Kidneys...so the antibiotics she had given me earlier in the week to treat the supposed UTI would not help this...boy TG!! Because I was not feeling any better at all, in fact I was thinking I was getting worse and could not figure out why until she called...so She put me on a new antibiotic and finally I am just starting to feel better...with just over a week to go before I leave for Leadership, I NEED to get better soon!

The New Edgelits are here and so is the New Mini!!!

Yes it has arrived! The new Occasions Mini is officially available today! As demonstrators, we have seen the Mini for over a month now and have had the greatest pleasure of ordering and working with all the new products - such an awesome perk of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator! So now we can share with you all the wonderful stuff that is now available, which is so exciting!! I have so many favourites I don't know where to begin...hmmm maybe the new scented embossing powder!! Seriously it smells amazing - like cherry, vanilla or melon...so cool! Or the new Sweet Press Cookie Stamps...there is a flower, clover and the cutiest bunny!! Or how about the new Framelits and Edgelit dies! They are awesome and I have used them both in the card below...

I used the new Labels Collection Framelits to cut out the new SAB DSP and the new Edgelit Die to finish off the card's edge/bottom. You're My Type!

So after such a busy Holiday week, I am now sitting here in bed...sick again! Can you believe this? Well as long as I'm healthy for the Stampin' Up Leadership Conference in 2 weeks, I guess I'll suffer for now...ugh! It appears I have a miserable bladder infection...not fun I say and rather uncomfortable...so between sleep, liquids and TV, I've been managing to get some work done on my computer...at least some good comes out of this!

So here is another NEW card from a NEW stamp set from the NEW OCCASIONS MINI...coming out January 4th!! I have also used some new exciting DSP too...oh so fun!

This is a fun stamp set and soon you will see why...I just love it!! Love the colour combos too...Basic Grey, Pear Pizzazz and Red Ridinghood! Hope you like it!

French Vintage simplicity

Well it has been a long break from my blog and I apologize...but it has been a busy week for my family, involving lots of family, food and hockey!! We had several days of family visiting that involved lots of eating...oh my gosh I am starting my cleanse tomorrow...seriously! It is desparately needed as I feel so gross after all the unhealthy food I've eaten, especially since I've been having a lot of diary products which I am seriously allergic too and I am covered in a horrible rash...I'll never learn!! But it was all so good...but now I pay the price...

I am going to share some of my favourite Christmas pictures with you over the next few days along with some new exciting projects using products from the NEW OCCASIONS MINI and the NEW SALEABRATION BROCHURE...oh how exciting! It goes live on Wednesday January 4th!

Some Christmas Tag Ideas...

A quick post as I couldn't sleep, so I'm up a bit early...thinking about all I still need to get done in the next 3 days!!

Post-it Note Project

First off I need to announce the winners of a few draws I've had recently...

The winner of the 50 for 50 Board was Christine C...Christine gets to select $50 in Stampin' Up! product from me...congrats Christine!

Snow Swirled goes Pink!

Wow a week today is the BIG DAY!! Christmas day! How exciting...and I still have a huge list of things to do...ahhhh!!! Do you still have lots to do too??? Why do we do this to ourselves every year?

Anyhow, I was having my nails done yesterday by my good friend Laura at Twenty Gel Nail Design (love my nails Laura - thanks!) and she also makes Stampin' Up! cards and this was the BEAUTIFUL card she gave me, along with a bag of candy all decorated in a cello bag with a Top Note bag topper (already ate all the candy - sorry can't show you that...opps!)...

Laura's company colours are Pink and Black, hence the card colours...I just LOVE it!!! Laura did a beautiful job on this card!! Thanks for the lovely card and great idea Laura!! Glittered Delightful Decorations

Well I had my Technique Class tonight all planned and prepared but while I was driving home from work tonight, I was thinking about a card I saw on the weekend in a store. It really caught my attention and I had been thinking about how could I replicate it myself...then I got an idea and as soon as I finished my dinner and with about 40 minutes to go before my class I set out to try my idea...here is what I came up with...

The card I saw had similar ornaments with glitter designs...so this was as close as I could come up with...I used Heat and Stick Powder, than applied the fine glitter in gold, brown and red on Cherry Cobbler card stock. The DSP is the retired Groom paper in black and I also used the Quilted Cherry Cobbler ribbon...a different card but I was pleased with the final product!

I ended up cutting the supplies to make this card for my class with only minutes to spare and my class was pleased that I did...What do you think of this card? Leave me a comment on your thoughts!!

Holiday Gift Card

Here is a neat Gift card holder...it is just a card front with one of our long envelopes folded over on the front to hold a gift card. I found part of this idea on Heather Summers' Blog...Heather made just the gift card idea, but I wanted to make it bigger and add more to it... the card/envelope flap holds shut with the circle punch piece by sliding the flap under the circle...

This is how the Gift Card opens...

The gift card fits in the right side of the envelope opening. It's a nice size Gift Card as it fits into a regular size envelope.
