Papaya Collage

Busy day today...preparing all day for my Mystery Night tomorrow...May 28th! Lots of good deals on stamp sets, retiring accessories, free gifts, awesome door prizes! Thanks to my awesome daughter Kendall for helping me today...she is only 12 1/4 and she can't wait to be a Demonstrator - I call her my assistant and pay her well ;) - seriously I do...she's so sweet though she sometimes declines the money because she likes helping me so much...but I always insist because she is so helpful! Her twin brother, Skyler will often help too, but only when he wants some money...LOL!

So since I got so much done, I was able to start working on my Wednesday Occasions class - this week's theme is suppose to be 'Wedding  Cards' but I wanted them to see and play with all the new stuff instead! I think this card could be used as a wedding card...what do you think?

It uses the new stamp set Papaya Collage and some of the new colours...

Country Side for Dad

Well I have decided to give myself a deadline...new Blog design by June 1st? Gosh I am going to try!! I had hoped to get someone to redo my Bog for me but they seem, to be very busy and not responding, so I guess that means it's down to me...that's ok I know what I want and how I want it to look, it's just finding the time...;)

Right now I'm taking a break from preparing for my Mystery Night on Monday May 28th - only 2 days away! I have gone through ALL of my stamp sets and had 73 sets that were retiring - yes 73 sets! Which was about half of my collection! So I decided to keep about 20 of them (just could not part with them YET) and I have just over 50 sets for Monday for FREE! Yep FREE!! Summer Smooches goes Masculine?

Kendall and I took my wonderful step-mother Mary to have her toe nails painted tonight to celebrate! My step-mother received wonderful news last week that her cancer had gone into remission and my whole family couldn't be more thrilled!

Mary doesn't venture too much on the wild side and had her toes painted a lovely shade of burgundy which is pretty daring for her. It's a UV gel so it will last her a long time (a couple of months I'm told). And because Kendall has been helping me out with my classes a lot lately I treated her too and she picked out this lovely colour...

sparking blue! Well it actually looks great on Kendall's toes! They are so cute! And well had a great time! Thanks Laura! Twenty Gel Nail Design in Mount Hope - Awesome work Laura!!

So I have been getting ready for my All Masculine Card Class, June 6th and was thrilled with the Summer Smooches DSP - even though it has flowers and bright colours on one side, it has solid geometric colours on the other which allows for me to use it in my Masculine birthday card. I also used the Mouthwatering stamp set with the scented embossing powder of course - guess which scent?

Beautiful long weekend!

We have all been enjoying the weather this long weekend here in southern Ontario! We opened our pool and have finished all the gardening. It's been in the 70's and even the 80's this weekend and only sunshine, just amazing! 

So needless to say, I have not done any stamping.  So I thought I'd share my garden with you instead until I can get to my stamping room later today. 

Hedges trimmed and my Bridal Spieria is almost in full bloom. 

 

This shot doesn't show very much except for my dog Buddy. All our pots and annuals are behind on the flagstone patio.I need another picture I guess.

Fifth Avenue, had to be one of my favourites

Well Kendall did amazing yesterday at her 2.5 Km Cross Country meet! She finished 12th out of over 300 girls from all across the City in her race. Wow 12 out of over 300 girls! She is only in grade 6 so I told her she will do even more awesome next year!! So proud of her!

Well I had my All Occasion Class last night and the theme was retiring stamp sets...one of my favourite retiring stamp sets has to be Fifth Avenue (and I'm not sure if I will part with this one)...I used Blushing Bride,  Pear Pizzazz (both retiring) and Early Espresso in this card.

The brad I used is also retiring, along with the Pear Pizzazz scallop dots ribbon...oh so much stuff that I will miss!

D is for Dog...so hard to say goodbye to...

So Kendall, my daughter is off to the City's cross country track meet today and I swear every year it rains on them!! Well I am hoping it's not too bad for them and I wish her luck as she is a very fast runner...I'll report her happenings tomorrow!

This is also one of Kendall's favourite stamp sets, so I probably won't part with this one, 'D is for Dog'. We both LOVE animals especially dogs! I am going to be sending this card to my Vet as our dog Buddy just had his yearly check-up and our Vet is so good to him. Buddy loves going to the Vet...not sure why, maybe the treats they give him, but he is one of the few dogs, she says, that reacts that way!

Not only is the stamp set retiring, but so is this punch, Heart to Heart and of course the colour I used is Poppy Parade (also retiring) with Basic Grey.  Hope you like the card!

Charmed...I'm sure!

Finally had a chance to listen to Ronda Wade's amazing series 'End Strong' session 1 yesterday and I am so motivated it's unbelievable! If you ever get a chance to take one of her sessions, I HIGHLY recommend it! You will be so inspired and moved to succeed in your life and business!

 

Here is another retiring stamp set, Charmed...so sad to see this cute stamp set go...I have also used all the 2010 - 2012 In Colours on this card and the stamp set 'Sincere Salutations (another favourite). I got this card idea from a fellow demonstrator. The stamped image is embossed in white.  A fun and striking card with the white emboss!

Bye, Bye Fifth Avenue

I had a nice Mother's Day...my husband cooked breakfast and dinner, the twins joined my husband and I at the driving range, it was a beautiful day! My daughter and I stopped at the garden centre on the way home and picked out

all my garden flowers and I even had some time to start planting them. Than we stopped over at my parents and had a really nice visit with them later this afternoon...and now I am enjoying the last (:( episode of Once Upon A Time...

I thought I'd post, over the next few weeks, some former cards from stamp sets that are retiring at the end of this month...here is a card using the Fifth Avenue stamp set...I always loved this set.

Remember all retiring accessories are while supplies last and stamp sets are only available to the end of the month! So stock up and get your favourites now!

My Mother's Day Card...

albeit a bit late to show you all but  finally got around to it! We made this card in my Technique class this past Wednesday. It uses the 'Everything Eleanor' stamp set - from the NEW Catalogue - a FREE stamp set we received back in January at Leadership!! Yes I've had this set this long and it's been killing me to use it!!

We used our aqua painters to blend in the Bravo Burgundy ink around the flowers on the Pink Pirouette card stock. The flower is punched out with the Blossom Punch (4 of them) run through the crimper about 4 times in several directions and scrunched up, held together with a vintage brad, than sponged with the Bravo Burgundy ink and sprayed with the Blushing Bride Smooch Spritz...looks great eh?

Oh and the card stock in the background? Is a NEW In Colour...Evening Primrose...a really warm pretty colour :)

I hope everyone has an awesome Mother's Day weekend. It is suppose to be a spectacular weekend here in S. Ontario...sunny and warm (for us about 24 C or high 70's)...a chance to be outside and get some gardening done and I have my FIRST Tee-Off time on Sunday at 12:21pm with my 12 year old son!! Can't wait!!

Mixed Bunch again...

Ok so I LOVE the Mixed Bunch stamp set...and I am so glad they havve decided to carry it over for now...I made a bunch of cards on the weekend from my scraps...left over punched items, stamped greetings etc...I like to do this because it is a challenge for me...trying to make cards from only what is in front of me...and add a few extra embellishments like ribbon or buttons...so here is a fun card I made using up what I had...

I just added the Blue Jean ribbon - carrying over to the New Catalogue :) and the Crumb Cake buttons (on Clearance)...enjoy!

Last night I had my first class in my NEW SPACE...

All ready to go...

Some of the ladies in the class...it went well...so nice to have everything at my side if I needed it and not have to run up and down the stairs like I did before when we were in my dining room :)

Thank You cards with help from My Digital Studio

So proud of my daughter Kendall right now! She made it into the School's Air-band contest all on her own! She was partnered up with another girl and after their first audition her partner dropped out.  So Kendall decided to continue on her own, changed up the routine to suit just one person and redid her audition last week and apparently 'rocked' it! Yesterday she found out she was one of only two soloist to qualify! Way to go Kendall!! So on the 30th of this month I will get to see her perform! Can't wait!!

This past weekend I was making cards for my work. They asked me Friday if I could make 25 Thank You cards for Monday...love it when you get these last minute requests ;)...they wanted something simple and with the logo on them...so I embossed the Thank You in Pacific Point ink with clear embossing powder and used the ticket corner punch (retiring!) on the corners to add some formality to the card...

Monthly card swap

This month I received my monthly card swap from Hayley in the UK. Cool eh?

Not sure of the stamp set, it's not one I have so if you can help me out with the name of it I would appreciate it!
