Well 2 weeks of my holidays are nearing an end and the weather looks like it is finally going to cooperate! I'm off to a round of golf with my 9 year son today (we'll see who is the better golfer) and I think we will get our rain check in today...finally! The last time we went out we were on the first tee and the heavens came down - lighting, thunder and rain!! At least we didn't have far to go to get off the course, but we still got soaked!!

Ok, so even though I've been on holidays, I still haven't done much stamping...not sure why because I really wanted to do a lot! But I did but this Decor Element into a frame and Wayne did hang it up for me (after I asked him only 4 times). I really like this DE, and I didn't want to put it right onto the wall so I decided to frame it instead (frame size is 24" x 30").  I just love it!! SU has so many nice DE to choose from. My tree is going up soon...stay tuned!!  Only 5 days unitl I leave for Convention!!!  Lynda

 

Always

Today's card is another one that I made from the always stamp set.  This set can be used with so many different colour card stocks.  It's amazing how you can use the soft subtles or the earth elements with the same stamp set and how your card will be so different from each other.  This card didn't take very long to make at all but yet it's just so pretty.  Have a great day. Basic Gray, Pretty in Pink and Whisper White card stock.  The inks were Basic Gray and Pretty in Pink.  Also used Basic Gray taffeta ribbon. 

Stamping Club Project Preview

Well one day without rain!!! Amazing!! Can we make it two?? Let's hope! Here is the project my Stamping Club will be making at the first class next month (August 17th). I still have room in the Club if anyone is interested, please let me know. I got the idea from another demonstrator's website, changed up the design and colours and here it is!

 I used Crushed Curry for the main folder and used Bermuda Bay for the card face. I stamped the background with Bermuda Bay ink using the Kind and Caring Thoughts (Hostess) Stamp Set. The Ebossilit Die Flowers are also Crushed Curry with yellow rhinestone centres and the Sizzlit Die leaves are Kiwi Kiss green. The ribbon is Black Gingham.

Inside I used some DSP (retired) on the Bermuda Bay card stock.

I attached the ribbon with some sticky strip (inside card face) and put in a few cards!  Makes a nice gift for a friend, neighbour or whoever you'd like!

My Stamping Club always learns a new technique at the beginning of the class and then makes a project to take home. As mentioned this is our first project. Is that the Sun?

Wow! All I have to say is that was one Big, Huge Thunderstorm that went on all day yesterday.  So the power went out and the kids were terrified that we were going to get hit by lightning and people a block away were swimming in there basements..... Thank goodness it wasn't me!  Please no more rain.....  So last night I started to make cards when the kids went to bed and everything was quiet so I could work peacefully.  My plan was to make cards all day yesterday but that just didn't happen.  So I took out my always stamp set because I have never used it but have "always" had so many ideas what I wanted to do with the set.  Here is a card that I made with the stamp set and the new in colours.  Hope you like it and have a wonderful Monday!  Tammy 

 

With this card I used the dusty durango, crushed curry, chocolate chip, more mustard and very vanilla card stock.  I used dusty durango and chocolate chip inks.  A pewter brad and chocolate chip ribbon. 

Decor Element Fun!

I recently painted my daughter Kendall's room Pink Pirouette (one of last year's In Colours and one of my favs). I just took a piece of card stock to Home Depot and they colour matched it no problem...then we applied these beautiful Decor Elements, 'Ginormous Flowers' to her walls. It looks awesome!! 

It was so easy, even Kendall was helping me apply them and we were able to put them up in an hour!! What an effect it has on her room and everyone really likes it. One kit is $53.95 and after we applied one kit we wanted more...so we added another kit...but one would have been fine. We also added the Princess Crown above her bed (another new Decor Element).

Stampin' Up has other wonderful Decor Elements and I will be posting more in the days to come. I am putting up the large 'Thoughts and Prayers Tree' in my bedroom this week, so I will show you that soon!

They are easy to apply and look great, so I would reccommend them to anyone. Remember they are also available as Hostess benefits and there is a gorgeous "Dasher' reindeer as a level 2 Hostess gift...I think I need that too! Have a great Sunday...please no more rain...I'm on holidays!!!! Lynda

 

It's Baseball Time

Today is my son's Birthday and I cannot believe that he is now "11".  Where does the time go I ask myself. The older he gets the older I get...... I think he should stop having Birthdays or I won't count mine!  Today we are off to a All Star Baseball game that he is playing in so I made baseball cupcakes for the team.  And to match his baseball cupcakes I made him this punch art Baseball card and I'm sure he will love it.  Have a great weekend everyone! New Punch

Oh I just love this NEW SNOWFLAKE PUNCH!! It is so beautiful and so fun! But it`s a toughie...I mean to squeeze. I guess with all the little metal parts, they reccommend using white card stock only as it is thinner then the rest of their card stock...anyhow what do you think? Isn`t it nice?

 I added some Dazzling Diamonds to the snowflakes. I also used the NEW BIG SHOT Movers and Shapers Modern Punch, Bashful Blue Taffeta Ribbon, the small snowflake punch (now retired - but I do have a few in my sale bin for $8.55 if interested) a Square Blue Rhinestone Brad all on Purely Pomegranate card stock (also retired). I sponged the edges with White Craft Ink...love this new Punch!!!

Kind and Caring Thoughts

Rain, Rain go away.. come back another year!!  Ok, seriously enough with the rain.  I guess if I had today off and was at home stamping I wouldn't be saying this.....  The card I will be posting today is what I made last night.  It's from the Kind and Caring Thoughts stamp set and this is a hostess level 3.  So if you wish to have a Stampin Up party this could possible be one of the sets you could pick for free.  Have a wonderful Rainy Day!!

   

Melon Mambo, pretty in pink, whisper white card stock.  Melon Mambo and Chocolate chip inks.  The ribbon is Old Olive with Dazzling Diamonds on the flower.

 

More new stuff!

I have still been playing with my new stuff :)

Here is a card using my new Big Shot Movers and Shapers Die - the punched out piece. It's neat because you can place the punch piece anywhere on the card you choose. I've also used the coordinating punch inside the card! The card stock is a new In Colour, Dusty Durango - I love this new colour, very warm with a Big Shot Texturz Plate for the background texture! And the Ribbon is also one of the new In Colour Ribbons - Soft Suede, tied with a button applied. All so simple! Especially when using the Big Shot - it does so much of the work for you!!

Speaking of BIG SHOT...I will be starting a BIG SHOT CLUB this FALL - Tuesday OCTOBER 20th will be the first class. More deatils to follow soon, but if you are interested I am taking names now and I already have 2 people interested and this class size will be limited. All projects will be BIG SHOT projects only and the fee will be around a $30 a month Stampin' Up order!
