Plane and Simple

Had a busy day at the Birchmount Gymnastics competition with Jalen.  She received silver in beam and bars, then she had bronze in floor and vault and came 2nd overall.  It was awesome when she was received her medals and I know she was really happy with her performance.  Tomorrow morning bright and early we are off to a dance competition in Richmond Hill.  Good luck "Jungle Dream" team.  Maybe Sunday I will get a chance to make some cards, I hoping so because I have lots of deas but no time to put them in place.......   Then Monday I'm working the election and back to work on Tuesday so as you can see it's going to be a busy one. 

My post today is a card with the Plane and Simple stamp set which makes great cards for Father's day, Dad's birthday and even a boy's birthday!  Hope you like my card and have a wonderful weekend everyone! Tammy

 

Amazing what you can do...

with all your scraps...literally! I have a box that I keep all the pieces of scraps in, of extra stamped, punched, Big Shot pieces etc. that I didn't use on a particular card. No sense throwing them away! So sometimes when I am at a loss for a design of a card I will pull out my scrap box and start to play around with some pieces and this card is a result of just that!!

You can see the Fifth Avenue Big Shot Die, the New Strength and Hope Butterfly stamp, some retired pretty in pink ribbon, etc. It's fun to challenge myself but it's also a quick way to make a card because everything is all done for me! Just put all the pieces together!

Ok got a busy day...need to make 20 Thank You cards for a Baby Shower gift...that's tomorrow...nothing like leaving it to the LAST MINUTE! That's just me...have a great weekend and hopefully we can all get outside tomorrow and enjoy a nice day!!

Strength and Hope Vintage Card and Puddle Day!

A friend of mine posted something funny on Facebook today and I thought I'd share it with you today, "I've always thought about moving to Vancouver but never thought it would move here." He is talking about our lovely rainy weather that just won't end!

But today in the Hamilton area it is National Puddle Day - so this weather is perfect for just this day! What is Puddle Day? You can read the full story here Download National Puddle Day but in short, a sweet little boy named Matthew was killed on June 21, 2010 in a car accident on Hwy 6 (not far from my house) that involved my UPS driver, his mother's car and a school bus. Matthew would have turned 5 today and he LOVED puddles! So to honour Matthew you are to jump into puddles today and think of Matthew and all the other families who have lost children and hug the ones you have and thank God they are safe.

In honour of Matthew's family, I am going to post one of my Strength and Hope cards from my upcoming class - May 17th (RSVP date is May 1st - still spots available) - details available on my Classes and Workshop page in the right column.  Stay safe! Lynda

Artistic Etchings

So did everyone have a wonderful Easter and long weekend?  I hope you did.  Wasn't Saturday just beautiful outside..... I wish it was that weather all year long.  Haven't had a chance to do any stamping lately and I'm getting the itch to stamp, stamp and stamp some more.  Maybe, I'll get a chance to stamp tonight or tomorrow night as the weekend will be busy with gymnastics and dance competitions.  Should be a fun weekend watching Miss. Jalen perform.  Go Jalen!

Colouring Contest Winner!

Good morning! A Busy day for me today...off to do errands and back to work at the Advance Election Polls. We had a lot of voters turn out yesterday, which was really surprising to us but great news! I also had a great phone call yesterday -  a call from Stampin' Up! to say I had won a FREE stamp set of my choice by participating in the Recruit Crew Training!! Yippee now what to choose...hmmm so many choices!!

Ok onto the winner of my kid's colouring contest! I must say I had some amazing entries and I decided the winner by putting ALL the kid's names in a draw and had Kendall pull out a name. I had entries from kid's from ages 6 - 11 so there were some cute and very skilled entries and if I get time I will scan some of them and post more later. But the winner is...

Surprise Easter Treats

Ok I have finally finished the instructions and of course the Easter Egg Treats that match yesterday's Lady Bug. The instructions will include both the Lady Bug and the Easter Egg!  This is my Easter treat to you and I hope you enjoy making them. I have to make 10 total and I've made 3 so far, so 7 to go! Let me know in the comments section if you liked them...at least I will know if someone took a copy...Have a wonderful Easter!! I am working all weekend as a Registration Officer for our Federal Election here in Canada. If you can believe it, we are running Advance Polls this weekend...yes on Easter weekend!!! Crazy we Canadians are!!

Ladybug Easter Treats

Hi all. Sorry about not posting yesterday...I was on a course early in the morning and I didn't get a chance to get anything up on our blog the night before but I hope today's post makes up for it! I am so excited about my post today!!

I saw this idea in a Shoppers Drug Mart for Easter and I knew I could make this! So I went home and got to work...I didn't even buy the idea either that's how confident (?) or stupid I was...I went from memory...(I do have a good visual memory and why I do have an Art History degree - had to memorize all those darn paintings!) anyhow onto my project...it's a Lady Bug candy holder! I made the box (around the size of the larger of the Scallop Circle #2 Big Shot Die) and fixed the Scallop Die to the 1 3/4 (half) circle punch and box (behind) with brads. I used the window sheets also. I will have full instructions up shortly with some step-by-step photos. So here it is...

Easter Blossom

Sorry for the late post today....Lynda had sent me an email asking if I could post today and I was in bed with a horrible migraine, this weather is killing me.  Feeling a bit better but still have a headache and hopefully it goes away soon.

So on to my post for tonight, I used the Easter Blossom stamp set and made this card and was really happy with the end result.  I embossed the girl and tree but it's kinda hard to see that in this picture.  Hope you like my card and have a great day tomorrow!  Tammy
