New Stamping Craft Room...now complete!

Well it's finally done...now I can start to play...I mean work again...

Most pieces were bought from Ikea (the Alex series), some storage pieces from 'M's'

Those large cabinets in the background I think came from Home Depot - one is full of stamp sets and the other is all my Big Shot stuff - 2 Big Shots, Dies, cutters etc...

I call this my Candy Jar Shelf. It reminds me of Leadership when they had the Sweet Shop...

Another large drawer from Ikea on wheels, that I can roll over to my table. My desk area for my lap top and printer (new printer too - that is wireless! sweet! Love that I can print anywhere in the house from my laptop - this was great last week when I was in bed sick!)

And the area behind me, where I am taking the pictures from will be where I will set up my 6ft folding table or my classes...

Thanks to my husband, Wayne and twins, Kendall and Skyler who put all this furniture together for me while I was sick...I am very thrilled and excited about my new space!!

Kindness Matters

One of my favourite Designer Papers this catalogue year was the Mocha Specialty paper with the Black flocking and gold metallic look. I will really miss this paper! I hope they bring something like this around again!

Here is another card I made using this paper with the Kindness Matters stamp set.

So I have pretty much finished my New Craft area. I had a craft room (well I was in our unfinished basement area) and was kicked out around Christmas time to make room for the kids to have a place to play video games...so I got moved to the other end of our large family room in the basement. Therefore, I felt I needed a 'nice' looking space and new furniture since we entertain in this space...good plan right?

Special Blessings...Communion Card

Quick post...here is a card I made for a friend, a Communion card using the long ago retired set, Special Blessings. I kept this set because nothing replaced it, especially the greetings it came with. I hope Stampin' Up! comes up with something comparable in their new 2012-2013 catalogue (coming June!).

I used gold and irredescent embossing powder and gold shimmer card stock.

Here is a card we made at my Technique Class last week...the Pool Party piece in the middle was made on a white card stock piece and colored in with ink and a brayer...why did I do this versus using a piece of PP card stock? I wanted to show them how to create your own piece of card stock in case you were in a pinch and needed a piece of Pool Party paper...pretty good match!

I stamped the Creative Elements stamp set in the background of the Soft Suede card and lightly sponged the embossed Pool Party piece too to antique it.

So still in bed again today...hope to continue working on my blog...maybe today it will be done?

This card was made for a work collegue's daughter's friend...girl's love glitter! I die cut the number on card stock close to the glitter colour, cover the number in Tombow glue, than cover it with glitter. It's best to work on a discarded piece of the stamp sheet - you know the sheet we get that has the sticky clear images on them to attach to the wood blocks - save those sheets! They are awesome for stamping because snail and glue doesn't stick to them and you can use them once and throw them away, like this time for exmaple. It takes about 20 minutes to dry so I do this part first and work on the rest of the card.

 

The stamp set is Mixed Bunch which I stamped in Pretty in Pink and Rose Red.

Hope you like this card. I also made another one which is very similar, for a 16 year old which I will post another day.

Elements of Style

Quick post...here is a Leadership swap idea that I used for my upcoming All Birthday Stamp & Stack this Friday...I love to use black and vanilla card stock together but here we have added some crumb cake into this card.

The stamp set Elements of Style (not retiring - LOVE it) is used on the Die Cut Butterfly and the background stamp is En Francais (not retiring - one of my favs).

Busy week prepping for my FULL class, preparing my Mother's Day Blossom Class, card orders and work (FT)...sooo tired I'm off to bed.
